salary for the first three years in consideration of the cost of your passage. The amount so deducted will be paid over to you on the satisfactory completion of three years' service. If you accept the appointment you should state which of these alternatives you would prefer to accent.

7. You will be entitled to half salary from the date of your embarkation from this country, and to full salary from the date of your arrival in the Colony. In the event of your apointment being cancelled, you will not be entitled to any leave of absence or pay

after the date of the letter by which the cancellation

is notified to you, unless the Governor, subject to the

approval of the Secretary of State, shall grant it on

special grounds.

8. I am to ask you to be so good as to state

at your earliest convenience whether you wish to socept this appointment; and if so, what is the earliest date at which you will be prevared to leave for the Colony. It is desirable that there should be no avoidable delay in your departure.
